East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust to drive transformation with Nervecentre

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has become the latest acute trust to select Nervecentre as its preferred Electronic Patient Record (EPR) supplier.

The trust selected Nervecentre to drive transformation after a thorough and detailed competitive tendering process.

The trust’s EPR programme, called EmPoweR, will bring together inpatient and outpatient care, ePMA, Order Comms and Theatres into a single EPR through the Nervecentre platform. The availability of accurate data and having a comprehensive range of EPR functions together in one place will help the trust make the working lives of its staff easier and more productive, while also improving the patient experience.

Simon Merritt, Chief Medical Officer said “I am so pleased that, after such a rigorous and competitive process, Nervecentre will be the new supplier for the trust’s acute electronic patient records system. This is an exciting time for digital change within the NHS and I am looking forward to seeing the new EPR system improve the way we work as a trust.”

Andy Bissenden, Associate Director of Digital at the trust said “I’m delighted to share that the trust is taking a major step forward in our digital transformation journey. Having Nervecentre as our preferred supplier for our EPR will bring us a modern and truly mobile, next-generation EPR to deliver better outcomes for patients and our operational/clinical teams.”

The trust will be the ninth acute trust to join Nervecentre’s cloud-native platform, alongside York and Scarborough, Harrogate and District, and six trusts from across the East Midlands Acute Providers network. The platform’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) architecture enables collaboration between providers while maintaining localised control and autonomy.

“Nervecentre is the fastest growing EPR in the country”, said Paul Volkaerts, Nervecentre CEO. “Its full-breadth functionality, class-leading usability, and collaborative capabilities will encourage safe and efficient care for people living in East Sussex. We look forward to continuing to work with the trust in this exciting time of healthcare digitisation.”
