A defining month in Nervecentre’s outstanding journey

Paul Volkaerts NervecentreJune 2025 will be remembered as a landmark moment for Nervecentre – a true coming of age for our company and a major step forward in NHS digitisation. In just four weeks, we successfully delivered three large-scale, high-impact software deployments across some of the busiest NHS trusts in the country. But one of these stands out as a monumental achievement – not just for us, but for the entire NHS.

Our first ever PAS go-live – a major milestone

At the heart of our achievements this month was the go-live of our first full Patient Administration System (PAS) at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) – a transformational, trust-wide implementation that sets a new benchmark for what a modern EPR can deliver.

This was the first completely new PAS to be deployed into the NHS in decades. It was a bold and ambitious undertaking by UHL and a defining moment for Nervecentre. The size, complexity, and significance of this project cannot be overstated. PAS is at the heart of any hospital’s EPR platform, and successfully delivering one at scale, without disruption, is an exceptional accomplishment.

We’re incredibly proud to have achieved this in close partnership with UHL. The trust they placed in us – and the spirit of collaboration that defined the entire programme – has been extraordinary. Together, we have shown that it’s possible to bring innovative, user-friendly PAS technology into the NHS, quickly and safely, with measurable improvements to daily operations across the hospital.

This go-live marks the beginning of a new era for every NHS trust looking to modernise their EPR systems without the pain and disruption traditionally associated with legacy EPR rollouts.

Two more go-lives in the same month

Alongside the PAS launch, we also delivered two other major deployments:

  • Northampton General Hospital (NGH): Just days after UHL’s PAS go-live, NGH went live with our EPR Patient Safety solution across the hospital, including Clinical Noting, Electronic Observations, AKI/Sepsis, and other essential patient safety tools. This was a rapid deployment—completed within just 12 months of contract signature – and immediately elevated NGH’s digital maturity. It’s a testament to their leadership and the close collaboration between our teams.
  • Chesterfield Royal Hospital: At the start of the month, Nervecentre went live in their Urgent & Emergency Care (UEC) department. Delivering complex digital tools into the dynamic and fast-moving world of emergency care is always a challenge, but we achieved it smoothly, with no disruption and immediate clinical impact.

Proof that Nervecentre can deliver at scale

To deliver three major go-lives in one month, especially with one being a full PAS, is a massive accomplishment in the EPR world. It shows that Nervecentre is not just an innovative provider, but we are a proven, scalable, and trusted partner for trusts across the country.

What’s especially rewarding is the feedback we’re hearing from clinical teams: that our software is intuitive and easy to use and makes day-to-day hospital operations faster, safer, and more efficient. That’s exactly what we’ve always set out to do. We build technology that works for frontline staff and improves patient care.

What’s next?

While June was extraordinary, it was just the beginning. We’re now preparing for our next full EPR deployment at Nottingham University Hospitals and are deep into planning with six more NHS trusts that recently signed long-term EPR partnerships with us.

Nervecentre has always stood for innovation and collaboration in digital healthcare across the NHS. June 2025 has proven beyond doubt that we can deliver on that promise, at scale, in complex environments, and with exceptional results.

Thank you to everyone involved – our NHS partners, our project teams, and every individual who helped make this month one of the most important in our history.

Here’s to what’s next.
