East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has signed a multi-year contract with Nervecentre to revolutionise patient care with its next-generation cloud-native Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, setting a new standard for digital transformation in the region. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the trust’s digital transformation journey, aiming to enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations.
The new system, called EmPoweR, will integrate patient administration, inpatient and outpatient care, electronic prescribing and medicine administration, order communications, and theatres into a single, cloud-native platform. This multi-year contract aims to significantly improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency, and deliver a robust platform for future healthcare innovation.
The trust is actively collaborating with other acute trusts that are also implementing Nervecentre’s EPR, highlighting a shared commitment to digital transformation and the adoption of best practices.
After Nervecentre was selected as the trust’s EPR, Associate Director of Digital, Andy Bissenden, said, “We’re taking a major step forward in our digital transformation journey. Nervecentre will bring us a modern and truly mobile, next-generation EPR to deliver better outcomes for patients and our operational/clinical teams.”
“Nervecentre is the fastest-growing EPR in the country,” said Paul Volkaerts, Nervecentre CEO. “Its full-breadth functionality, class-leading usability, and collaborative capabilities will encourage safe and efficient care for people living in East Sussex. We look forward to continuing to work with the trust in this exciting time of healthcare digitisation.”
