Nervecentre wins place on all-Wales EPMA Framework Agreement
Nervecentre has been awarded a place on a framework agreement with Digital Health and Care Wales to provide an electronic platform for prescriptions, medicines reconciliation and administration that will be used in hospitals across Wales.
Nervecentre’s closed-loop e-prescribing and barcode medication administration (EPMA) software saves time when prescribing and administering medications and improves safety. It is used extensively across four NHS acute trusts in England, including in-patients, maternity, paediatrics and emergency departments. It is estimated that a million medications a month are prescribed using Nervecentre’s EPMA solution. As many as 99 per cent of them are administered at the patient’s bedside using an app on smartphones and tablets.
Nervecentre is one of three organisations on the all-Wales EPMA framework and was ranked first place in the tender process, achieving full marks for its clinical capabilities.
Paul Volkaerts, Nervecentre CEO, said,
We are delighted to be awarded a place on the Welsh EPMA framework, and we look forward to working together with hospitals and health boards in Wales to introduce this comprehensive ePrescribing programme, helping to make the prescribing, dispensing and administration of medicines everywhere in Wales, easier, safer, more efficient and effective.
