Nervecentre’s technology is at the heart of three digital transformation initiatives shortlisted for this year’s prestigious HSJ Digital Awards. This success highlights the significant impact our EPR is having on improving patient care and operational efficiency across the NHS.
Tackling delayed discharges in Nottingham
Nottingham University Hospitals, in collaboration with partners across the Nottinghamshire health and social care system and Nervecentre, has been shortlisted in the “Connecting Health and Social Care Through Digital” category.
Their innovative ‘One Version’ dataset solution, powered by Nervecentre, is directly addressing the critical issue of delayed discharges. By providing real-time data access across the entire care system, including social care and community health, this initiative has achieved a remarkable 60% reduction in delayed discharges. It’s helping to free up hospital beds, increase capacity for elective care, and ease the pressure on emergency pathways.
Transforming Emergency Care
University Hospitals of Leicester has secured not one, but two shortlisted entries! Their “Emergency Department Paperlite Project,” utilising Nervecentre’s EPR, has been recognised in two award categories. By replacing 80% of paper with digital forms, they’ve dramatically reduced paper usage and, more importantly, created a single, easily accessible electronic record for all clinicians. This has led to safer, more efficient, and truly transformative care.
Digital Inclusion
Leicester’s second shortlisted entry, for the “Digital Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award,” celebrates the multi-lingual self-check-in system developed by Nervecentre for the East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC).
Patients arriving at the EMPCC can now use self-check-in kiosks in six languages, complete with directions to their appointments. This initiative ensures equitable access to care for a diverse population.
We congratulate all the teams involved in these outstanding projects. This recognition is a testament to their dedication and the power of digital innovation to transform healthcare.
