Two Yorkshire trusts announce Nervecentre as their preferred EPR supplier
Building on recent successes in the Midlands, two more acute trusts are now poised to join Nervecentre’s cloud-native Electronic Patient Record (EPR) platform, which is set to be the largest in the country.
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have announced that Nervecentre is the preferred supplier of their new integrated EPR systems. Nervecentre was confirmed the preferred bidder after scoring the highest in a joint competitive tender process, demonstrating its understanding of the needs of both trusts and the wider ICB.
Each trust will deploy Nervecentre on the company’s cloud-native EPR platform, which has a modern software-as-a-service (SaaS) architecture. These twenty-first-century technologies will enable integration with the wider care system whilst maintaining localised autonomy. The availability of accurate data will drive service transformation at scale, facilitate system-level redesign, and empower clinicians to work across trusts.
The next-generation EPR will give clinicians access to real-time electronic patient records on mobile devices at the patient’s bedside, contributing to safe and efficient care.
James Hawkins, Chief Digital and Information Officer at York and Scarborough said, “Our goal is to provide modern, intuitive and mobile systems that will help our staff to provide excellent healthcare every day and continue to strive to provide an excellent patient experience every time. Over a hundred of our colleagues from York and Scarborough were involved in choosing Nervecentre, and we are delighted to partner with them on the next stage of our digital transformation journey. “
Dr Jacqueline Andrews, Executive Medical Director and Executive Lead for Digital at Harrogate said, “Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to be partnering with Nervecentre to implement our new integrated electronic patient record. Having the right information at the right time in a user-friendly way will significantly improve our colleague and patient experience and the quality of care we can provide.”
“We are thrilled to be chosen by York and Scarborough and Harrogate”, said Paul Volkaerts, Nervecentre CEO. “This brings the total to seven acute trusts, with more than 8,000 beds between them, embracing Nervecentre’s cloud-native platform.”
